Google to flag unsecure sites in Jan 2017
Jan 21, 2017 by Doug DePrenger
Starting in January 2017 (Chrome version 56) Google will mark unsecure web pages that collect passwords or credit card information as unsecure.
The long-term goal of Google is to mark every unsecure webpage as 'Not secure'.
Why a web site should be secured
- Google penalizes web sites that are not secure
- Google labels the web site 'Not Secure' in the browser if site not secured
- Customers are more confident about their personal information when a web site is secure
- Stop hackers from seeing everything sent to/from your server; possibly getting into your web site
